Alan Dixon was born in Waterloo, by the Irish Sea, in 1936. His first collection of poems was published in 1964. He exhibited pictures at the AIA Gallery in the sixties and has exhibited constructions. Some of his woodcuts are in stock at the Redfern Gallery. Others have been used by small presses.

“I thank you, Mr Dixon, for Snails and Reliquaries, especially for The Bakerloo Snake. So beautifully wrapped.” – Marianne Moore

“It is wrong to suppose you will ever know quite where you are with him. His poems have a quirkiness and unpredictability which makes them hard to grasp and characterise. They jostle one another with amiable incongruity, doing their own thing.” – Helena Nelson, The Dark Horse
