Simon Curtis

Son of a  vicar and an English teacher, Burnley-born Simon Curtis was brought up in Towcester, Northants. After Cambridge, Aix and Essex Universities, he taught at the University of Manchester for over 20 years, was a visiting fellow at the U. N. S. W. in Sydney in 1989, and edited the Thomas Hardy Journal for a spell.

Simon Curtis passed away on 20 December 2013. (Obituary by Merryn Williams.)
