Connie Hayball

Connie Hayball was born in Birmingham in 1920. After studying English Literature at Birmingham University, where she edited the student newspaper, she became a teacher, finally settling in Hinckley, Leicestershire, where she still lives. After retirement she gained a PhD from Loughborough University for work on the representation of India in post-war British fiction. She continues to enjoy both reading and writing. This is her first published work, although she edited her husband’s wartime memoirs, and has contributed to other local publications.
